Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Tzva Shucher ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal information through our emergency alert and donation system, including our phone lines, text messages and the website at tzvashucher.org.
1. Information we collect
- Membership details: your phone number, your name and a recording of your name, your donation amount, your weekly limit, how you want to be notified, and your night-hours choice.
- Payment information: card details you enter by phone are sent to our payment processor, which stores them securely. We keep only limited details, such as the card type, the last four digits, the expiry date, and the amount and status of each payment.
- Calls and messages: when you call or text us, or we call or text you, we receive your phone number, the date and time, keys you press, recordings and voicemails you leave, and the text of messages you send. We also keep records of when you opted in or out.
- Staff accounts: for people who sign in to the admin portal, their name, email address and sign-in records. If they sign in with Google, we receive only their name, email address and a Google account identifier, used to confirm who they are. We do not receive access to their Gmail, contacts, files or any other Google data.
- Website information: our servers keep standard logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security. The website uses only the cookies needed to keep staff signed in. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
2. How we use information
- to send the emergency alerts you signed up for, by phone call or text message;
- to process your donations and keep accurate donation records;
- to manage your membership and answer your questions;
- to honor opt-out requests and keep records of consent;
- to protect our systems, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Text messages
We send text messages only to people who have agreed to receive them. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop, or HELP for help.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
4. How we share information
We share personal information only:
- with service providers that help us run the system, such as our telephone and text message provider, our payment processor, our hosting provider, our email provider and Google (for staff sign-in). They may use it only to provide their services to us;
- when required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and security of others.
5. Security
We protect personal information with encrypted connections, access limited to authorized staff, and regular backups. Full card numbers and security codes are never stored on our systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
6. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including donation, accounting and consent records. Afterward it is deleted.
7. Your choices
- Stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.
- Change your notification method, night-hours choice, donation amount or card, or leave the system, through the account settings on our phone line, or by contacting us.
- Ask us to see, correct or delete your information by contacting us. We may need to keep some records, such as donation records or an opt-out request, as the law requires or so that we can continue to honor your request.
8. Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
